Although 2009 was Anne Connor’s first time coordinating the VCFA Postgraduate Writer’s Conference, she is no stranger to the writer’s life and writing events. She graduated with a Master of Arts in Writing (MAW) in 1998 from Manhattanville College. Her current favorite genre is flash fiction, though non-fiction is gaining on it in leaps and bounds as she is currently working on her memoir. Her short story, Fuming Mad was published in Inkwell Magazine. Eight of her submissions appear in Chicken Soup for the Recovering Soul: Daily Inspirations. She and a co-writer published a humorous column for years in Vermont Woman called, Ann and Anne: Fun, Fabulous and Fashionable. For the last twenty years, she has written a quarterly column for Parkway, an English- language newspaper in Hiroshima, Japan. Anne also has a Master’s in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Columbia University from which she has many Japanese connections. In addition, she works with writers on a regular basis through her online academic coaching business called Taproot Academic Coaching. (www.taprootacademiccoaching.com)
