Carnegie Online, the online publication of Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, is running a feature story on Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA in Visual Art alumna Madelyn Roehrig and her ongoing art project, Figments: Conversations with Andy, in which the artist-educator is documenting who visits the late artist Andy Warhol’s grave.

VCFA MFA in Visual Art Program alumna and Trustee Gail Gregg is going to have a solo exhibition at the Beach Museum of Art at Kansas State University. The show opens on January 29th, 2010 and runs through May.  Like much of her current work, this series explores geometric abstraction through the use of found supports. Gregg has recycled pages taken from anonymous, cast-off scrapbooks and family photo albums she gathered from flea markets and other sources. For more information, visit...

Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA in Visual Art faculty member David Deitcher has guest-curated a photography exhibit titled Alan B. Stone and the Senses of Place. The show opened on January 29th and features the black & white work of little-known Montreal photographer Alan B. Stone. Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA in Visual Art alumna Lory Lockwood is part of an exhibition at WomenMade Gallery in Chicago, Illinois. The show, titled 13th International Open, features 27 artists who were chosen from the 224 entries they received. Lory's piece titled "Reflections in Chrome," features car and motorcycle imagery, generally depicted through reflective surfaces. For more information on the exhibit visit the gallery's website.

Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA in Writing current student Michelle Richardson has a new art exhibit opening in March at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. The show, titled "Wandering at Night," features wildlife and fantasy subjects, depicted in clay engravings, drawings, and paintings completed over the last four years, while Michelle, a self taught artist, wrestled with a series of health issues.  For more information visit the gallery's website.

Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA in Visual Art alumna Michelle Hagewood has a solo exhibtion titled “Specimens of Infrastructure"at the Metro Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland. The show reflects the work Michelle has done over the last year photographing, collecting, and considering modes of urban infrastructure and its interactions with the “natural” landscape. Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA in Visual Art alumna Kristi Ryba is part of a new show titled Untold Stories at the City Gallery at Waterfront Park in Charleston, SC.  Untold Stories features the work of three contemporary figure painters, James Innes, Kristi Ryba and Daphne vom Baur, who present their distinct viewpoints and creative processes through figurative works, while allowing the viewer to explore their stories and experiences. It was just announced that Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA in Visual Art alumna Marcy Pope was selected byThe University of Maine Museum of Art to be part of their inaugural I-95 Triennial exhibition. The exhibition will feature a survey of the finest contemporary artists working in four New England states: Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  One hundred forty-four individuals submitted materials for the highly competitive exhibition.
