Article about the work of Alaskan VCFA Alumna Asia Freeman

Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA in Visual Art alumna Asia Freeman's work was highlighted in a feature in Anchorage Press. The piece discusses her  installation project titled Backyard, Alaska a collaborative show she did with Michael Walsh. Backyard, Alaska "toys with the lies we buy to make the debris of our lives tolerable, or even laudable."

The show first appeared at the Pratt Museum in Homer and is now at the MTS Gallery in Anchorage where it continues through July 10.

Points of View

"As a recent graduate of VCFA's MFA program and the post-graduate Picture Book Certificate Program, I can say that I have never looked back. In addition to the knowledge and life-long friendships I've gained as a result of my Vermont College experience, I've seen remarkable growth in my ability to teach the craft of writing to students. Without a doubt, Vermont College of Fine Arts' MFA program has made me a better writer and a better teacher."
