Ellen Howard

Ellen Howard is the author of eighteen books and several short stories for children ranging from picture books for young children to a young adult short story.  Her books have won such awards as the Christopher Award, The Parents' Choice Gold Award, the International PEN Award, USA Center West Children's Middle Grade Award, and a Golden Kite Honor.  Among her most recent books are The Log Cabin Church, The Log Cabin Wedding, and The Gate in the Wall, which was listed among The Smithsonian’s Notable Books for Children in 1999 and was the Judy Lopez Memorial medalist in 2000.
