Uma Krishnaswami

Uma Krishnaswami is the author of a dozen books for children, including picture books (Monsoon, The Closet Ghosts, and The Happiest Tree: A Yoga Story), a middle grade novel (Naming Maya), easy readers, poems, and short stories. She has two more middle grade novels under contract. Her books have been picked for CCBC Choices, Parents' Choice, IRA Notable Books for a Global Society, Scientific American Young Readers' Book Award, Bank Street Best Books of the Year, and the Paterson Prize. She is on the editorial board of Kahani,an award-winning South Asian children's magazine.
