Kate Gustafson is a native of Montpelier, VT. She grew up with the little College on the hill where she performed dance recitals and spent hours frolicking on the green.
Kate left Vermont to attend Harvard University, where she played varsity basketball and majored in biological anthropology. After graduating, she meandered about for a number of years and spent time living in New York City and Germany. Eventually Kate found her way to work in higher education and began her career at Vermont College in 2002. She has held the positions of Assistant Director of the MFA in Writing program, Assistant Director of Admissions, Program Director of the MFA in Writing for Children & Young Adults program, and she is now VCFA's Controller/Bursar.
Kate's greatest joys, beyond the job that she loves, are her two small children, Sophie and Calvin.
